American Airlines Trans-Continental Business Class

American Airlines, as you might know, is my favorite airline because my dad is a frequent flyer with them. Because of this, we fly American's business class a lot. But there is a big difference between American's business class on long-haul flights and their business class on trans-continental flights. Also, I have never flown the trans-continental business class on AA, but I am in August.

The first noticeable difference when you walk on board is that the first class looks exactly the same as the business class on long-haul flights. The seats are layed out in a 2-2 configuration so the window seats do not have direct isle access. The seat turns into a very comfortable lie-flat bed that has descent privacy. Although you might have a neighbor sitting next to you, there is a lot of room in between so you don't feel claustrophobic. The seat is 19 inches wide and has a length of about 76 inches in bed mode. The TV screen is 15 inches and fast so you can watch some of the wide selection of movies and TV shows while you are in the air. At your seat, you will find Casper bedding and a comfortable pillow, a water bottle, outlets and USB ports, a Cole Haan amenity kit, noise-cancelling headphones, a menu, and much more. The screen is touch screen but while reclines you can use the touch screen remote that controls the TV. When you are in the air, flight attendants will come around and offer you a hot towel along with your meal selection. The one thing that American Airlines can definitely improve on is the food because when I fly with them, I never end up eating a lot because of this. In your amenity kit, you will find socks, and eye mask, lotion, a tooth brush and tooth paste, and a $100 Cole Haan coupon! You can purchase this business class seat from JFK to LAX for around $1,000.
