American Airlines Transcontinental - A321

American Airlines, as you might know from reading some of my other posts, is my favorite airline. This is mainly because of the amount of time that I fly with them. As I am writing this, I am sitting on board their A321 business class on my way to California.

The seat itself is very comfortable, and I have a lot of space. When I got to my seat, I was greeted with a bag holding a very soft pillow and a large blanket. I also found an amenity kit that holds a toothbrush and toothpaste, an eye mask, ear plugs, and much more. Along with this, you get a free water bottle waiting at your seat. The plane itself is very small, and business class features only 5 rows of seats layed out in a 2-2 configuration. I am sitting in a window seat, which means that I do not have direct isle access. But to be honest this is not a problem because I don’t think I’m going to get out of this seat at all! On one side of me, there is a descent sized platform that you can put things on. Next to that is an easily accessible control panel that controls your seat. Below that is a touchscreen remote that controls the touchscreen TV, which I will get into later. There is also a pouch that holds the literature for the flight. Lastly on this side, there is another pouch which holds the medium sized, sturdy tray table. On my other side, there is an armrest that can be raised and lowered for your comfort. By your head is a reading light and a few more seat controls. Also, behind you, there is a water bottle, the amenity kit, and many charging outlets. Once we got into the sky, the flight attendants went around handing out noise-cancelling headphones. On all American Airline flights, these used to be Bose headphones, but I received headphones made by a company called Bang and Olufsen. They still work great though and they truly are sound cancelling. The seat, as expected, turns into a comfortable lie flat bed in the sky. I will take advantage of this shortly! The entertainment system, as always, is amazing! There are hundreds of movies and TV shows to watch and the screen itself is big and very responsive. The only big criticism that I have of American Airlines is the food. For super picky eaters like me, it is hard to stay full because there is not much to eat. The moto I hear describing American Airlines is “Great seats, bad eats!” But overall this experience is amazing and I would highly recommend it for all of you travelers!
