I have, throughout my website, addressed how I love Qatar's Qsuite business class on board their 777's. But what is the first, business, and economy class like on board the A380? Well, let's talk about it!
Economy:
Qatar has been ranked #1 on Skytrax for 2019 for many reasons. This is mainly because of their exceptional service and their amazing Qsuite, but all of the classes do not disappoint. The economy class on board Qatar's A380 (and 777) has been known, in many cases, as the best economy class. The bottom economy class cabin is layed out in a 3-4-3, with descent privacy in the seats. On the upper deck, there are fewer rows and seats, increasing the privacy. It is layed out in a 2-4-2 configuration. Along with this, the upper deck cabin has higher ceilings to give you a much more spacious feeling. If you happen to book a window seat, you get much extra storage and space next to the window. The seat has a pitch of 32 inches and a width of 18.5 inches. Although you do not get an amenity kit on a day-time flight, you do get a descent sized pillow and blanket for the comfort of your seat. Along with your around 14 inch TV screen, you have access to a touch screen IFE remote that works great! If you are flying economy on the A380 with Qatar Airways, I would highly recommend purchasing a window seat in the upper deck. You will find this seat from around $600-$700.
Business:
Qatar Airways has 2 different business class seats. The Qsuite, which I have talked about a lot in my blog, and also the normal business class seats on the A380. When you first get to your seat, you will notice that it looks very similar to many business class seats. The seats are layed out it a 1-2-1 reverse-herringbone layout. This configuration is very popular for many business class products. The seats are 22.2 inches wide. When you go to sleep, you can also lower one of the armrests which turns your seat into 30 inches wide. In your arm rest, you will find and water bottle and noise-cancelling headphones that work very well. Your seat also has around 50 inches of pitch and, in bed mode, is 80 inches long. One big problem that many people have when they sleep in business class is the tiny foot-wells that can make you claustrophobic at times. This was my biggest criticism of the *new* Singapore Airlines business class. But Qatar's business class avoids this problem with the large foot area that you receive. On over-night flights, you receive very soft and comfortable pajamas for the comfort of your sleep. The crew, as you can expect from Qatar, is very friendly and kind. The biggest criticism that people have with this seat is the lack of privacy that you get. But the seat itself makes up for this problem, in my opinion. Lastly, you will find a bar and a mini lounge area at the back of the business class cabin. You can purchase this seat for around $2,000, depending on where you fly.
First:
The first class seats on board the A380 have everything you would expect from first class, with an extra bit of luxury! When you enter the first class cabin, you will see 8 seats, layed out in 2 rows in a 1-2-1 configuration. The seat itself is very spacious and comfortable. It has 23 inches of width and a pitch of 83 inches. Although Qatar's first class seat is not the most private seat you will find in first class, it does have privacy dividers. These help a lot when you want privacy while relaxing or sleeping. At your seat, you will find noise-cancelling headphones, a menu, and an amenity kit that consists of everything you need to make your flight more comfortable. Unfortunately, this first class seat does not come with pajamas on day flight. All business and first class passengers do have access to the bar and lounge. This is a great perk that Qatar offers because it allows you to stretch out and walk around after sitting down for a long time. Qatar has an amazing IFE system called Orxy One. It is very reliable and you can browse through thousands of movies. While on board any class on Qatar, your definitely not going to get bored! When you are ready to sleep, a crew member will happily make your bed so you can have an amazing night sleep! You can purchase Qatar's unbelievable first class seat for around $3,500 - $5,000.
